Andrew W. Cohen is a partner in the law firm of Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot.  He joined the firm in July 2001.  During his more than fifteen years as a litigator, Mr. Cohen has represented individual and corporate clients in complex legal proceedings in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

Mr. Cohen currently represents clients in class actions in federal and state courts around the country and in personal injury and medical malpractice cases in the District of Columbia and Maryland courts.

Mr. Cohen received his B.A. from Tufts University, where he graduated with honors.  He holds an M.A. in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.  Mr. Cohen earned his law degree from Boston College Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the International and Comparative Law Review.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cohen served for three years as a legislative assistant to U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey (D-Massachusetts), handling a variety of foreign and domestic policy issues.

Mr. Cohen is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.  He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in Washington, D.C. and Massachusetts, the United States Courts of Appeal for the First Circuit, the D.C. Circuit, and the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Cohen is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C.

Mr. Cohen resides in the District of Columbia with his wife Nicola Goren and their sons Jacob and Jared.
