Want to Appeal Your Case?

Let our Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland Personal Injury Lawyers Help!

Photo of Supreme Court Building in Washington DCEffective appellate advocacy requires specialized skills and experience. An appeal differs significantly from a trial or administrative hearing. The evidence has been presented, the trial judge, jury or agency has ruled and the case will now be decided on questions of precedent, procedure, and innovative legal theory. An appellate specialist possessing experience, imagination and effective advocacy can make a real difference in achieving a successful outcome in this arena. This is also the arena in which the appellate practitioners of our firm have long excelled.

Our decades of experience in appellate advocacy enable us to represent our clients effectively and persuasively before tribunals in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Our appellate advocates have successfully taken on some of the most challenging legal issues of significance to personal injury clients and practitioners in a wide range of areas, including construction accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, inadequate security, government liability, toxic torts, intentional torts, workers’ compensation and class actions.

Our team of appellate lawyers is led by Marc Fiedler, who has won numerous appeals in state and federal courts. He chairs the appellate-advocacy committee of the local trial-lawyers association, is frequently called upon to teach other lawyers about effective appellate advocacy and served as a law clerk for a judge on the D.C. Court of Appeals before joining our firm.

Our appellate attorneys handle appeals in cases tried by the firm as well as appeals in cases tried by other law firms. Our appellate practitioners are available to assist with all appellate-related aspects of litigation, including developing winning legal theories and strategies at the outset of litigation, preparing and responding to dispositive motions at the trial-court level, preserving error, preparing and responding to postverdict motions, reviewing the trial record, analyzing and researching legal issues, preparing appellate briefs, presenting oral arguments and preparing postargument motions and petitions. We pride ourselves on our meticulous preparation, thorough research, trenchant analysis, creative legal thinking, cogent briefing and persuasive oral arguments. In providing our appellate services, we are able to draw upon the extraordinary breadth and depth of substantive legal knowledge offered by our seasoned attorneys.

Appellate advocacy is an area where experience matters. Our track record demonstrates that our lawyers possess the talent, skills and experience for successful appellate presentation. We offer the advantage gained by familiarity with appellate courts, mastery of appellate rules of practice and procedure, a wealth of practical knowledge borne of years of practice in handling dozens of appeals and the value of a fresh perspective. We welcome the opportunity to put our extensive experience to work for you. If you would like to speak with our Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia personal injury attorneys about your appeal, please contact our law firm to set up a free consultation.
