This is Bill Lightfoot reporting from the American Association for Justice Convention in New York City.

Every year thousands of attorneys all across the nation come together to share ideas and gain knowledge about the practice of law at how we can best represent people who were injured.

For example at this convention there’ve been several lectures by doctors and by lawyers about the abuse of the various doctors who were hired by insurance companies and trained by defense firms to examine people who were injured, write a report of exam, and then testify at trial in a way that is deceptive and to mislead the jury about the nature and the extent of people’s injuries.

Here at this convention, lawyers have shared ideas about how to combat and undermine these deceptive practices, because with this type of knowledge we can best represent our clients to obtain the justice they deserve.
